In the spirit of getting ready for our yearly trek out to the desert, we'd like to bring you all together for an evening of entrancing music to get your heart moving and feet warmed up for that dusty yet heavenly land. Please, come join Outpost 23 for our Burning Man fundraiser "IGNITION!"

In return, we'll leave you with a sense of enlightenment that will carry you all the way into Black Rock City. As a bonus, all proceeds from this party are going to be going to our new playa project, the BOOMBUS! The BoomBus is the new brainchild of the Outpost 23 crew. Over the last few years, we've come to realize that although many burners loved our playa theatre of hard thumpin' beats at all hours of the night, our neighbors didn't always share this sentiment. Based on that, it came down to one option: this show needs to be taken on the road! This is the first of two weekend-long camping festivals The Chilluminati will be creating in 2006. Both will be held near Black River Falls, close to the heart of the psychedelic tribes of Wisconsin and those of Iowa, Minnesota, Ontario and Illinois.

The Native Americans of western Wisconsin built huge earthworks that we now know as effigy mounds. These immense forms, carved into the earth, were symbols of The Divine. Just as the tribes built their mounds, we create these parties as Cosmic Condensates. I can’t say enough about Tripswitch’s debut "Circuit Breaker" on Dragonfly. It’s got all the spacey psy-chill elements (dense modulation effects, trippy arps, etc.) but also manages to lay down some groove. He even fits in some tasteful guitar. I saw that he is going to do a tour with Bluetech late in the year.

Hi everyone,

I just wanted to drop in and say thanks to everyone for braving the rain and making it down to the Savoy last night. Honestly, I was having a pretty rough day yesterday and to see so many of you venture out once again on a Monday night made me feel very special. I received a lot of thanks from people for keeping Secret Psychedelica going and I would like to say you're welcome but it is I who should thanks to all of you! Obviously, without your attendance and support, I would not have the drive to keep this running. Also, please let's not forget the real backbone of the night and that's the Secret Psychedelica family/crew. Cast in order of appearance: Teri (Savoy), Terry (Viberation Graphics), Chris (Therapy), Arwin (Ataraxia), Matt, Rafiq, and Steve (the dRow), and of course Pablo (part-time doorman and one-time bartender). Hello everyone, hope your week has been fine so far. Apparently some of you are still pooped from your desert excursions down south this weekend (hope that party was a great one!), but if you're not, we'd love to see you down at SYNCHRONIZE this week!

This week we have a guest that's very dear to our hearts, and who has been a figure in the psytrance scene in San Francisco since its beginning days. One of the most honest and professional promoters here, working with him is a delight. Oh, and he's also one of the best DJs in the Bay Area, having been spinning for over 10 years. We're very happy to have MICHAEL LIU play for us, and he has requested an opening slot, which we've extended for him. Afterwards will be a tag-team set by SENTIENT and RANDOM. Hide the kids!

Once more , SYNCHRONIZE is an open, FREE, unaffiliated party that always provides the friendly atmosphere that it is loved for. Secret Breakedelica II

Do any of you remember Secret Breakedelica earlier this year? It was a last minute show put together to replace Hujaboy in May for the anniversary party.
Well, it looks like Secret Breakedelica might take on its own identity as interested in Secret Psychedelica grows. Basically, another club has offered to host Secret Psychedelica at their location on Monday nights. I find the idea very interesting but I am not down to leave the Savoy after almost 5 years. So, the thought of starting a brand new night with no conflicts to the 4th Monday came to mind. Secret Breakedelica II would have four shows in the year 2006. The focus will be on breaks but also on a single room vibe.
Nothing has been set in motion yet, but I do want to get your feelings on the matter.

Secret Psychedelica 5 year anniversary

Well, there's really no news as of yet for this special occasion. But, I did want to start some discussion with this tribe on how this night should be approached. Any suggestions on how to make the night better than the last few bigger nights? For those of you who know, the "bigger nights" for me are the anniversary shows and the Halloween shows. Any ideas for guests? In the past, the bigger shows have had Hujaboy, Reid Speed, Joti Sidhu (Psychaos), D-Tek, and S>Range. Right now, I have leads on Synchro and Midimiliz from last year so those are some options. Another option would be to bring back a past guest. Whatever the guest performer, it will need to be an exclusive Bay Area appearance. Anyhow, post some ideas :)

we have all stumbled into the partying scene from different paths. some of us are clubbers. some of us are burners. some of us just like to dance.

but some of us are ravers. at some point in the 90s we stumbled into warehouses with boom-boom-boom music and we got sweaty.

then, at some point we found new places to rock out and stopped calling ourselves ravers. we started going to clubs and to "parties" that were essentially raves but we called them "parties" to make ourselves feel older and seperate ourselves from the glowsticking candy crowd.

but the essence is the same. those first raves that we went to were something special and fresh and blew our minds. do you remember the music? acid house? breakbeat hardcore? trance? old school breaks?

this weekend we're bringing it back and mixing the old school and the new school. it's the same vibe. we're still raving. do not be alarmed.

$6 Door?

Here's a general question for everyone. Every year, the door charge for admission has increased by one dollar. I would like to ask you all what you think of the door going to $6. Last year, we had a handful of international acts come through the club and I was able to maintain a $5 door for most of the shows except the Halloween one. This year, I've already received a handful of requests from agents that want to bring the acts they represent in to Santa Clara to play at Secret Psychedelica. A lot of the offers are very reasonable but still difficult for me to manage financially. Anyhow, what are your general thoughts? Oh yea, and if you bring the flyer, you can still get in for $3. :)

My boss is flying me out to Anaheim for the NAMM show and I decided to stay out there for the following week. I planned on visiting a few friends in SF, San Diego, and Vegas. I want to make sure I'm still in SF on that Monday if there is a show going on. If you need an extra DJ.. I'm up for grabs as well.
